History
Asaka Station opened on 1 May 1914 as Hizaori Station (膝折駅) with the Tōjō Railway line from Ikebukuro. It was renamed Asaka on 10 May 1932. A military spur to an Imperial Army clothing depot was laid in 1941. The Wakōshi–Shiki double-tracking entered service on 25 August 1987, giving the present 2-island/4-track layout. Departure melodies came into use on 18 March 2008, and the north entrance was renamed the east entrance on 1 April 2008. The 'EQUiA Asaka' retail concourse opened on 28 April 2010. Platform doors entered service on 23 March 2019 (tracks 3-4) and 14 March 2020 (tracks 1-2). Asaka became an Express stop in the 18 March 2023 revision.
