History

Nishi-Takashimadaira Station opened on 6 May 1976 on the Toei Subway Line 6, in Takashimadaira 6-chōme of Itabashi, Tokyo. It received Toei's first trial automatic ticket gates at opening. Line 6 was renamed the Mita Line on 1 July 1978. The PASMO IC card became valid on 18 March 2007, and an elevator was completed on 8 April the same year. The line was originally to be jointly built with Tōbu Railway and through-run via the Tōjō Line; after Tōbu withdrew, the operating licence between Takashimadaira and this station was transferred to the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation on 28 April 1973. The station is the northernmost on Tokyo's subway network and the Mita Line terminus.
