History
Nishidai Station opened on 27 December 1968 as part of the inaugural section of the Toei Subway Line 6 in Itabashi, Tokyo. Line 6 was renamed the Mita Line on 1 July 1978. The original entrance, on the east side of the tracks, was the only access point for several decades; after the Itabashi ward assembly approved a second exit in 2003, the existing entrance was redesignated the East Exit on 31 March 2004 and a new West Exit opened in 2005, served by a lift to Nishi-Takashimadaira-bound platforms. PASMO IC service began on 18 March 2007. The platforms had to be extended westward in stages to accept 8-car trains, the last of the Mita Line stops to be upgraded.

Notes
The 8-car platform extension here was the last to be completed on the Mita Line because both ends of the platform were boxed in by stairs to the original East Exit and by a crew changeover staircase to the west.
