History

Akiyama Station opened on 31 March 1991 on the Hokuso Line in Matsudo, Chiba, sited in a cutting below ground level with platforms designed to be extended for ten-car operation toward Kitakokubun. Automatic ticket gates were installed in February 1999. Station numbering came into use on 17 July 2010, when Akiyama was designated HS04. A sub-name advertising the nearby Shotoku Elementary and Koei VERITAS Middle/High Schools was added on 17 March 2025. When the station first opened the surrounding land was mostly temporary cycle parking and farm fields, but the area has since been built up with large condominiums and shops as the Akiyama land-readjustment project has progressed.

Notes

Although Akiyama is on a section of track shared with the Narita Sky Access Line, no Keisei-operated services stop here — only Hokuso Line trains call.
