History
Dashan Station opened on 11 October 1922 as Daishankyaku Station on the Coastal Line of what is now the Taiwan Railways Administration West Coast line, in Houlong Township, Miaoli County. It was renamed to its current form, Dashan, on 1 April 1964, though the older reading is still used in Taiwanese. The station today is served only by local commuter trains and lies near the Waipu Fishing Port. In December 2019 a drunk-driving truck struck the wooden station building, badly damaging the interior; no passengers or staff were hurt.

Notes
The station name still carries the older Daishankyaku reading in Taiwanese, even though it was officially renamed in 1964.
