History

Shin-Funabashi Station opened on 15 September 1956 on what is now the Tōbu Urban Park Line (Tōbu Noda Line) in the city of Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, and is operated by the Tōbu Railway. The elevated station has two opposed side platforms over two tracks with the concourse located underneath. Tōbu introduced system-wide station numbering on 17 March 2012, and the stop was assigned the code TD-34. The line itself runs 61.3 kilometres from its western terminus at Ōmiya in Saitama Prefecture; Shin-Funabashi sits near the southern end. The neighbourhood is anchored by AEON MALL FUNABASHI, the terminus for an AEON shuttle bus to Funabashi-Hōten Station.
