History
Higashi-Nakagami Station opened on 1 July 1942 on the Ōme Line in the city of Akishima, western Tokyo, and is operated by East Japan Railway Company. It lies 2.7 kilometres from the line's starting point at Tachikawa and is built around two side platforms connected by an elevated station building. The station passed from Japan National Railways to JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of the national railway. The surrounding district is best known for Shōwa Memorial Park, a major public park that occupies the former site of the Tachikawa Air Base immediately south of the station.
