History

Shibasaki-Taiikukan Station opened on 10 January 2000 when the Tama Toshi Monorail Line was extended from Tachikawa-kita to Tama-Center, completing the through route between Kamikitadai and Tama-Center. The station is an elevated stop with two opposed side platforms on the standardised concourse-below template used along the line, situated above Tokyo Metropolitan Route 149 in Tachikawa's Shibasaki district. The planning name was simply Shibasaki, but the operator changed it during construction to avoid confusion with the existing Keiō Line station of the same name and to highlight the adjacent Tachikawa Municipal Shibasaki Gymnasium. Station numbering was introduced across the monorail in February 2018, assigning Shibasaki-Taiikukan the code TT10.

Notes

The construction-era working name was just "Shibasaki"; planners changed it to avoid a clash with the existing Keiō Line station of the same name.
