History
Shin-Nihombashi Station opened on 15 July 1972 as an underground stop in Chūō, Tokyo, when JNR's Sōbu Line was extended into central Tokyo via a new tunnel. It is now operated by East Japan Railway Company and serves the Sōbu Line (Rapid). The single underground island platform serves two tracks. The stop is closely linked to the surrounding subway network: passengers can transfer on foot to Mitsukoshimae Station, which is served by the Tokyo Metro Ginza and Hanzōmon lines, although the connection is not a formally integrated interchange paid through a single ticket.
