History
Komiya Station opened on 10 December 1931 with the inauguration of the Hachikō Line's southern Hachiōji–Higashi-Hannō section, handling both passengers and freight. Baggage operations ended on 1 February 1984, JR East and JR Freight inherited the station at the April 1987 privatisation, and the Hachiōji–Komagawa section was electrified on 16 March 1996, opening direct service to Kawagoe. Freight train operations ceased in March 1997, and the Chichibu Cement (today's Taiheiyō Cement) bagging-plant siding was later removed. An over-track station building was completed in 1999 alongside a new south exit. Suica fare-card service began on 18 November 2001, and the JR Freight station was abolished on 1 April 2004.

Notes
Until 1997, Komiya handled cement shipments from Chichibu Railway via Yorii, with a dedicated siding running into Chichibu Cement's bagging plant beside the station.
