History
Iigura Station opened on 1 October 1964 as a passenger stop on Japanese National Railways' Sōbu Main Line in what is now Sōsa, Chiba Prefecture, 90.6 rail km west of Tokyo Station. With the dissolution of JNR on 1 April 1987 it transferred to East Japan Railway Company. A new station building was completed in December 2000, replacing the original facility. The station has a single side platform serving bidirectional traffic; the platform is short and can accommodate trains of no more than eight cars in length. It is unstaffed.
