History
Tsukiji Station opened on 28 February 1963 as a stop on the Teito Rapid Transit Authority's Hibiya Line, becoming a Tokyo Metro station with the agency's privatisation on 1 April 2004. Located beneath the Tsukiji district of central Chūō ward, it sits only about 150 metres from the former Tsukiji fish market site and a few blocks from Tsukiji Hongan-ji. PASMO use began on 18 March 2007, and on 17 March 2018 it began offering paid-area transfers with the Yūrakuchō Line at Shintomichō Station roughly two minutes away. Departure melodies were introduced on 7 February 2020 with track 1 using "All Mighty" by Hiroshi Shiotsuka and track 2 using "Shiosai" by Naoya Fukushima.
