History
Shiraitodai Station opened on 22 October 1917 as Kita-Tama Station, the original terminus of Tama Railway's Sakai (today Musashi-Sakai) to Kita-Tama line. With the extension to Tsuneghisa (now Kyōteijōmae) on 1 June 1919 it became an intermediate stop, and on 30 August 1927 the line and station passed to Seibu Railway. Improvement works on 23 June 1977 relocated the platform from the south side of the level crossing to the present site north of it. The stop was renamed Shiraitodai on 28 March 2001, and station numbering SW04 was introduced during fiscal year 2012. The station serves as the management base for the entire Tamagawa Line, with an island platform connected to the station building by a level crossing.

Notes
Two Keiō Line stations — Musashinodai and Tamareien — sit only about 600 metres from Shiraitodai. Inside Shiraitodai signage points to them and onboard announcements mention the transfer, but Keiō makes no official transfer announcement in the reverse direction and neither operator participates in joint fare-revenue settlement.
