History
Musashinodai Station is a Keio Line stop in Fuchu, Tokyo, with station number KO21 and located 18.8 km from the Shinjuku terminus. The Japanese Wikipedia article records its opening on 31 October 1916 by Keio Electric Tramway, then operating under the original name Kurumagaeshi (車返駅). Keio Electric Tramway was absorbed by the wartime Tokyu (Daito-kyu) on 31 May 1944, and Keio Teito Electric Railway split off again on 1 June 1948. The station was renamed Musashinodai on 1 June 1959 after the surrounding Musashino-daichi terrace. A new overpass station building entered service on 5 December 2010, and Musashinodai became a Rapid stop with the 22 February 2013 timetable revision.

Notes
The original name Kurumagaeshi (literally "turning back the cart") comes from a legend that Minamoto no Yoritomo, transporting a Yakushi Buddha statue to Kamakura, was directed by the deity in a dream to leave the statue here and send the cart back.
