History
Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Station opened on 24 March 1925 under the name Sekido Station (関戸駅), on what is today the Keiō Line in the city of Tama, Tokyo. The station was renamed to its current name on 1 May 1937. It is operated by Keiō Corporation and sits 26.3 kilometres from the line's starting point at Shinjuku Station. All Keiō Line services stop here, and alongside Tama Center Station it is described as one of the principal gateways to the Tama New Town development. The station building has two elevated opposed side platforms, and the surrounding district contains a Keio Department Store, Keio Corporation's head office and a bus terminal north of the station.

Notes
Seiseki-Sakuragaoka is featured in Studio Ghibli's 1995 film "Whisper of the Heart" — although portrayed in the film as more developed than it then was — and a dedicated film-themed map plus a miniature antique-store postbox where passers-by can post their dreams and goals have been installed near the station.
