History
Shin-Urayasu Station opened on 1 December 1988 as a stop on the JR East Keiyō Line, situated 16.1 km from Tokyo Station. The atré Shin-Urayasu retail complex above the station opened on 26 February 1993, and Suica acceptance began on 18 November 2001. A second "Atré" ticket gate was added on 7 December 2002 to cope with retail throughput, and departure melodies were introduced on 25 August 2006. Station numbering was rolled out in 2016, assigning the code JE08, and a STATION BOOTH shared workspace opened inside the gates on 27 November 2020.
