History
Amarube Station opened on 16 April 1959 in the town of Kami, Mikata District, Hyōgo Prefecture, and is operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). It lies on the San'in Main Line, 187.2 kilometres from the line's Kyoto terminus. The railway is carried into the station across the Amarube Viaduct, the high bridge that gives the stop its distinctive elevated entry. The station itself is unstaffed and consists of a single side platform serving one bi-directional track. The Wikipedia article notes that daily passenger usage at the station has been very low in recent years.
