History
Hazama Station opened on 1 October 1967 together with the rest of Keio's new Takao Line, serving the Higashi-Asakawachō district of Hachiōji in western Tokyo. The name comes from a hamlet at the foot of Mount Hatsuzawa whose place name was later applied to the surrounding neighbourhood. On 22 February 2013 Hazama was added to the list of Semi Special Express stops, a status that was effectively retained when the category was folded into the regular Special Express service on 12 March 2022. The station is currently scheduled to receive platform-edge doors in fiscal 2028.

Notes
The Tokyo National College of Technology now stands on the land originally earmarked for a Keio train depot, a site reassigned only after the company shifted its rolling-stock yard plan to the Wakabadai area.
