History

Seijōgakuen-mae Station opened on 1 April 1927 at the request of Kuniyoshi Obara, the headmaster of Seijō Gakuen, after the school relocated to the area; the campus was expanded using profits from residential development around the new station. The first Odakyū overhead-concourse station building was erected in 1932, and the stop joined the semi-express network on 1 October 1946. The down passing line was taken out of service in March 1995, and Tama Express and Shōnan Express services began calling on 23 March 2002. The down and up tracks were placed underground later that same year, the line was quadruple-tracked from 26 September 2004, the West Exit opened on 11 April 2005, and the Seijō Corty station building opened on 29 September 2006. Station numbering OH 14 came into use in January 2014, and JR East E233-2000 series trains began through-running via the Tōkyō Metro Chiyoda Line from 26 March 2016.
