History
Kemigawahama Station opened on 3 March 1986 on the Keiyō Line in present-day Mihama-ku, Chiba City. It was absorbed into JR East with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station consists of two elevated side platforms serving two tracks, with the station building below, and is 33.7 kilometres from the line's western terminus at Tokyo Station. Station numbering was introduced in 2016, when it was assigned JE14; following the 2023 opening of Makuhari-Toyosuna Station, codes on the outer Keiyō Line were each shifted by one and Kemigawahama was renumbered JE15.
