History
Keiō-Nagayama Station opened on 18 October 1974 with the extension of the Keiō Sagamihara Line and began service as a stop for local and rapid trains. Although the surrounding Suwa-Nagayama district was the first inhabited block of Tama New Town, the railway lagged behind move-in by about three years, and the station's opening was further delayed by some six months relative to its Odakyū sibling because acquisition of roughly 350 metres of land between Inagi and Wakabadai stalled and the oil shock compounded the slip. Express services began calling from 27 March 2001, the second-generation special express from 22 February 2013, semi-special express from 25 September 2015, and Keiō Liner from 22 February 2018. The neighbouring Odakyū Nagayama station building is effectively integrated with this one.
