History
Haruhino Station opened on 11 December 2004 in the Haruhino neighbourhood of Asao-ku, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, as a station on the Odakyu Tama Line operated by the private Odakyu Electric Railway. It sits 4.8 kilometres from the line’s terminus at Shin-Yurigaoka. The elevated station has two opposed side platforms serving two tracks; the station building is cantilevered above the platforms. Designed with a hybrid power system, the roof carries solar cells and a small wind generator that supplement grid electricity. The facility is fully step-free, with escalators and elevators linking the overbridge and universal-access toilets on both platforms.
