History
Senzoku Station opened on 11 March 1923 as part of the Meguro-Kamata Electric Railway, the forerunner of today's Tokyu Meguro Line, anchoring the Senzoku Garden City development to its east. Underground conversion work to bypass a level crossing on Kannana-dōri began in December 1964; the upbound track went underground on 16 February 1967, the downbound on 26 February, and the works were complete on 22 August 1967, eliminating four level crossings along nearly 1 km of route. With the 6 August 2000 split of the Mekama Line into the Meguro and Tōkyū Tamagawa Lines, Senzoku became a Meguro Line station.

Notes
When the 1993 engagement of then-Crown Prince Naruhito and Masako Owada was announced, Masako's parental home was reportedly near the station, and platform tickets briefly became collectors' items; the nearby shopping street took to calling itself the 'Princess Street'.
