History

Tamagawa Station opened on 11 March 1923 in Ōta, Tokyo, and is operated by Tokyu Corporation. It serves three lines: the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line (TY09), the Meguro Line (MG09), and the Tōkyū Tamagawa Line (TM01), the last of which terminates here. The complex has two levels: an elevated upper station with two island platforms serving four through tracks for the Tōyoko and Meguro Lines, and an underground lower station with a single island platform on two tracks forming the Tamagawa Line terminus. The station sits close to Tamagawadai Park, Denenchōfu Catholic Church, the former Tama practice ground used by the Yomiuri Giants baseball team, and the Marukobashi bridge over the Tama River.

Notes

The lower-level platform here is the terminus of the Tōkyū Tamagawa Line, while trains on the Tōyoko and Meguro Lines pass through on elevated tracks directly above.
