History

Kobuchi Station serves the Yokohama Line in Minami-ku, Sagamihara, Kanagawa, and is operated by the East Japan Railway Company under station number JH24. It opened on 13 March 1988 as a JR East station, making it one of the line's newer additions. Automatic ticket gates were installed on 6 September 1994, and Suica IC service began on 18 November 2001. The staffed Midori-no-Madoguchi ticket office closed on 19 October 2021, and Smart platform doors entered service on 26 March 2023. The station has two opposed side platforms in a cutting below the bridge-style station building, which sits at street level above the tracks.
