History
Ichigao Station serves the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line in Aoba-ku, Yokohama, under station number DT18. It opened on 1 April 1966 when the Den-en-toshi Line was extended from Mizonokuchi to Nagatsuta. The original station building was replaced by an elevated bridge-style structure in June 1979, which also created a public free passageway through the station. The east entrance was renovated under the East Exit station building project on 1 April 2015, and the adjacent shopping facility Etomo Ichigao opened the same day. Platform doors entered service in stages, with track 2 going live on 29 October 2017 and track 1 on 24 December 2017. The station is the nearest stop to the Aoba Ward Office.

Notes
Background music is played over loudspeakers on the platforms as a deterrent against suicide; the same measure is used at Azamino and Eda on the Den-en-toshi Line.
