History
Asahigaoka Station opened on 1 April 1988 on the Ichibata Electric Railway's Kita-Matsue Line at Kososhi-chō, Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. The station was constructed to serve the adjacent Asahigaoka residential development north of Lake Shinji and consists of a single side platform served by one bi-directional track. With Ichibata Electric Railway's transition to a holding-company structure on 1 April 2006, the rail operations were transferred to the newly established Ichibata Densha Co. The station became fully unstaffed from 1 October 2021.
