History
Nagae Station opened on 5 April 1928 on the Ichibata Electric Railway's Kita-Matsue Line, on the north shore of Lake Shinji in present-day Matsue. The stop was destaffed on 15 October 1980 and has remained unstaffed since. With Ichibata Electric Railway's reorganisation into a holding-company structure on 1 April 2006, rail operations were transferred to the newly established Ichibata Densha Co. The station consists of a single side platform on a sharply curved alignment; the curvature means passengers must take particular care when boarding and alighting. Only local services call here, with limited expresses passing through.
