History

Itonuki Station opened on 20 March 1956 as a stop on the Japanese National Railways Tarumi Line, in what is now the city of Motosu, Gifu Prefecture. On 6 October 1984 the line was transferred from JNR to the third-sector Tarumi Railway, and the station became part of that operator’s sole line. The unstaffed station, numbered TR08, has a single ground-level side platform serving one bidirectional track, with a small waiting shelter on the platform, and lies 13.4 rail kilometres from the line’s terminus at Ōgaki. It sits in a rural area amid farmland, with a small settlement and post office on the west side and a JA branch and factories on the east.
