History

Kibōgaoka Station opened on 26 March 1948 on the Sagami Railway (Sotetsu) Main Line, in Asahi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The station lies 12.2 km from the line’s starting point at Yokohama Station and has two opposed side platforms serving two tracks, with the station building elevated above the platforms. On 30 November 2019 through service began over the Sōtetsu Shin-Yokohama Line to Hazawa Yokohama-Kokudai and onward via the Sōtetsu–JR Link Line. Through service via the Sōtetsu Shin-Yokohama Line to Shin-Yokohama and onto the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line followed on 18 March 2023, extending the station’s reach into central and northwestern Tokyo.
