History

Nihon-ōdōri Station opened on 1 February 2004 with the inauguration of the Yokohama Minatomirai Railway's underground Minatomirai Line, 3.2 kilometres from the line terminus at Yokohama. The station serves the Naka Ward government district and carries number MM05 with the official sub-name 'Kenchō/Ōsanbashi' (Prefectural Office / Pier). Because the Yokohama DeNA BayStars play at adjacent Yokohama Stadium, BayStars-themed station decorations and departure melodies were introduced during the 2012 and 2013 seasons; the departure melody was changed to the team's 'Yusha no Idenshi' cheer song on 29 March 2019. Platform-edge doors entered service on 23 March 2019, and a fourth exit serving Yokohama Ōsanbashi pier opened on 15 March 2023.

Notes

The station's departure melody is the Yokohama DeNA BayStars cheer song 'Yusha no Idenshi', adopted on 29 March 2019 after seven years of the team anthem.
