History

Tejikara Station opened on 21 January 1926 as a stop on the Kakamigahara Railway, sharing its opening date with several others on the line. The railway was merged into Meigi Railway on 28 March 1935 and consolidated into Nagoya Railroad on 1 August the same year. The station was unstaffed from 1 March 1967 and joined the cluster of Kakamigahara Line stations adopting the Transpass ticketing system on 16 December 2006. Manaca IC card support arrived on 11 February 2011, with Transpass discontinued on 29 February 2012.

Notes

Although the station is named for the Tejikarao Shrine, the surrounding district of Tejikara only took that name in 1974, nearly half a century after the station opened.
