History

Shōnandai Station opened on 7 November 1966 as a stop on the Odakyū Enoshima Line in the city of Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture. The site was transformed into a three-operator interchange in 1999, when the Sagami Railway Izumino Line was extended to the station on 10 March and the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line arrived on 29 August of the same year. Today Odakyū, Sōtetsu, and the city subway each operate their own platforms, but ticket gates converge on a single wide underground concourse. Through-services connecting to the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line via the Shin-Yokohama Line began on 18 March 2023.

Notes

Although three separate railways meet at Shōnandai, every operator's ticket gates open onto the same shared underground concourse rather than into private station halls.
