History
Yokoya Station opened on 15 February 1960 as a station of the Japanese National Railways Tarumi Line, in what is now the city of Mizuho, Gifu Prefecture. From the start it was an unstaffed passenger-only stop. When the line was transferred to the third-sector Tarumi Railway on 6 October 1984, the station passed to the new operator and was assigned the line code TR03. It lies 4.5 rail kilometres from the line's terminus at Ōgaki. The station has a single ground-level side platform serving one bi-directional track, with a simple concrete platform similar to a former temporary halt and only a small shelter — no station building.
