History
Higashi-Yokota Station opened on 20 April 1937 on what is now the Kururi Line in Sodegaura, Chiba Prefecture. Service was suspended on 20 January 1947 during the post-war retrenchment and the station was reopened on 1 April 1958. It passed to JR East at the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and a new station building replacing the disused freight-shed structure was completed in January 2007. The station became part of the Tokyo metropolitan suburban zone on 14 March 2009. It is unstaffed and the single side platform accepts trains of up to four cars.

Notes
Until the 2007 rebuild the station's waiting room had been a disused railway caboose converted in situ to serve as the station house.
