History
Kazusa-Tsurumai Station opened on 7 March 1925 as Tsurumaimachi Station on the Kominato Railway between Goi and Satomi, taking its present name on 1 January 1958 after the dissolution of Tsurumai Town. It has been unattended since 1998. The wooden station building was selected as one of the Kantō Region's Top 100 Stations in 1999 and the station house was formally entered onto the national Registry of Tangible Cultural Properties on 2 May 2017 as the "Kominato Railway Kazusa-Tsurumai Station House." A new public toilet designed by Sou Fujimoto was added in 2018. The single side platform serves bidirectional traffic; the disused island platform and sidings remain in situ.
