History
Haguro Station opened on 29 April 1931 as a station on the Meigi Railway (later Meitetsu) Daizōne Line in the village of Haguro, Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture. After the Meiji-mura open-air museum opened nearby in 1965, the station served as the access point for shuttle buses to Meiji-mura, and on 3 November 1966 it was renamed Meiji-mura-guchi Station; from 1966 to 1985 a through limited-express service (using 7700 series and other stock) ran the single-station stretch between Inuyama and the station for Meiji-mura visitors. A new station building was completed on 1 October 1977 with the platform relocated. When the Meiji-mura bus route was shifted to start at Inuyama Station in 1985, the station reverted to its original name Haguro on 9 October 1985. It was de-staffed on 27 March 2003, the Manaca IC card came into service on 11 February 2011, and the older Tranpass magnetic card system ended on 29 February 2012.

Notes
Between November 1966 and October 1985 the station was called Meiji-mura-guchi ("Gateway to Meiji Village") and served as the bus transfer point for visitors to the open-air architectural museum that had opened nearby in 1965; the original name was restored only after the access bus route was shifted to start at Inuyama Station.
