History
Ajioka Station opened on 29 April 1931 as a stop on Meitetsu's Komaki Line in the city of Komaki, Aichi Prefecture. The station name derives from the historic village name of Ajioka. A staffed station from 1949, it was returned to unstaffed operation in 2003 when the line moved to a centralised management system. The tracks through the station were elevated in 1987, and the manaca IC card came into service on 11 February 2011. The current layout retains a side platform with the station building beneath; a 2014 accessibility project added a lift to the westbound platform.
