History
Koshigoe Station opened on 20 June 1903 as Yato Station on what is now the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden) Main Line, in the Koshigoe district of Kamakura. It took its current name on 15 July 1948. The platform was lengthened on 22 April 1993 to accommodate four-car trains; even so, the rear car on Fujisawa-bound services and the front car on Kamakura-bound services overrun the platform and have their doors locked closed. Both ends of the platform sit on level crossings, which constrains any further extension. The station has been staffed during daytime hours since modernisation.

Notes
Because both ends of the platform sit on level crossings, four-car Enoden trains stop with one car's doors locked shut, and a dedicated door-cut switch is built into the cab to enforce it.
