History

Komakihara Station opened on 29 April 1931 on what is now the Meitetsu Komaki Line, in the city of Komaki, Aichi Prefecture. It was closed during the Pacific War in 1944 and remained out of service until reopening on 11 October 1951. The platform was elevated in June 1987, and the station was unstaffed from February 1967 onwards. Between 1991 and 2006 it was an interchange with the Peachliner people-mover, whose elevated platform on the south side has since been sealed off; the disused Peachliner structure was demolished by 2022. The manaca IC card began service on 11 February 2011, and an elevator was added in March 2018.

Notes

Until 2022 the disused Peachliner monorail platform sat sealed above the south side of the station, its windows boarded against vandalism for sixteen years after the line closed.
