History
Zushi Station opened on 16 June 1889 on what is today the Yokosuka Line, in the city of Zushi in Kanagawa Prefecture, and is operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The third and present station building was completed in March 1969. Control of the station transferred from Japanese National Railways to JR East at the 1 April 1987 privatization. Through services on the Shōnan-Shinjuku Line began on 1 December 2001. In August 2007 escalator and elevator facilities were completed and a new overpass opened on the east (Higashi-Zushi) side, with the west exit shifted slightly westward. The station has an island platform and a side platform serving three tracks.

Newly built rolling stock from the J-TREC factory in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama is delivered to the JR East network via a JR Freight connecting line immediately south of Zushi Station.
