History

Hotaruda Station opened on 1 April 1952 on the Odakyu Odawara Line in the city of Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, 79.2 kilometres from the line's Tokyo terminus at Shinjuku. The station is operated by the private Odakyu Electric Railway and has two opposed side platforms with three tracks, linked to the station building by a footbridge. Station numbering was rolled out across the Odakyu network in January 2014, when Hotaruda was assigned the code OH45. The station remains a local stop without limited-express service, sitting between Ashigara and Tomizu on the southern leg of the Odawara Line.
