Notes

Hikoneguchi has two opposed side platforms connected by a level crossing within the station yard. The station building that once stood on the Maibara-side platform was demolished in 2014 after falling into disrepair. The down-line platform has a direct ticket gate from the road. Platform numbers are not posted; signage refers instead to the 'former-station-building side'. Near the Kibukawa end of the platforms a points layout leaves a slightly wider-than-usual gap between platform and track. Surrounded by densely-built housing, the station has a high school to the north-east. The 'Hikoneguchi Station' bus stop on the down-line platform side was eliminated at the end of March 2019; the nearest active stop is now 'Okamachi', along the JR Biwako (Tōkaidō Main) Line.
