History

Naka-Gōra Station opened on 1921-12-01 with the inauguration of the Hakone Tozan Cable Car Line. Wartime restrictions classified the cable car as a non-essential line, and the station was suspended from 1944-02-11 to 1950-07-01. The unstaffed two-platform station, 0.72 km from Gōra, sits on a steep slope; passengers crossing the track must walk through the stopped funicular car as there is no foot route around it. Operation passed to Odakyu Hakone on 2024-04-01.

Notes

There is no walkway or road crossing the track at this stop — to switch sides, passengers walk through whichever funicular car happens to be stopped.
