History
Miyanoshita Station opened on 1 June 1919 on the Hakone Tozan Line, 12.1 km from the line's terminus at Odawara. The station has two opposed side platforms linked by a level crossing at the Ohiradai end. On 1 April 2024 operating responsibility passed to Odakyu Hakone as part of a wider Odakyu Group restructuring of Hakone-area services. The station became fully unstaffed on 1 February 2024.

Each June and July the station hosts the special "Yoru no Ajisai-go" (Night Hydrangea) reserved-seat service, which pauses for about ten minutes so passengers can photograph the surrounding hydrangeas; boarding or alighting at the stop itself is not permitted.
