History
Shiga-hondōri Station opened on 20 December 1971 on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Meijō Line, in Shiga-hondōri 2-chōme, Kita-ku, Nagoya. The station occupies two side platforms underground and carries the station number M10 with light blue as its accent colour. Platform-edge sliding doors were placed into service on 5 October 2020. Because Shiga-hondōri lies between the much busier Kurokawa and Heian-dōri stations and offers no transfer to other subway lines, its passenger profile is dominated by local residents; fiscal 2019 ridership averaged 7,291 boardings per day, the lowest among nearby Meijō Line stops. The station falls under the jurisdiction of the Sakae sub-district of the Meijō Line North Station District Office.
