History

Goma Station opened on 25 August 1910 on what is now the JR West San'in Main Line, 47.1 kilometres from the line's Kyoto terminus, in the city of Nantan, Kyoto Prefecture. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station passed to the West Japan Railway Company. The layout comprises one ground-level island platform and one ground-level side platform, connected to the station building by a footbridge, and the station is unstaffed. In fiscal 2018 it was used by an average of 586 passengers daily. The surrounding district is rural; the closest landmark is Nantan Municipal Komago Elementary School.
