History
Hatta Station opened on 15 July 1918 as a Japanese Government Railways signal stop on what is today the Kansai Main Line, and was upgraded to a full station on 1 February 1928. After JNR successorship and a wartime transition, the Nagoya Municipal Subway Higashiyama Line opened its joint-use Hatta station on 21 September 1982. The JR side passed to JR Central at the 1987 privatisation, and on 7 April 2002 the JR station was completely rebuilt and relocated about 500 metres toward Nagoya. Station numbering arrived on the JR Central section of the Kansai Main Line in March 2018, assigning CI01 to Hatta.
