History

Maji Station is an unstaffed railway stop on the JR West San'in Main Line in the city of Ōda, Shimane Prefecture. It opened on 25 November 1918, when the San'in Main Line was extended between Nima and Asari, and lies 431.9 kilometres from the line's terminus at Kyoto. With the privatisation of the Japanese National Railway on 1 April 1987, the station came under the operation of the West Japan Railway Company. The station building was rebuilt in 2004. The platform consists of a single island reached from the station building via a level crossing, and only local trains call here.
