History
Minato Kuyakusho Station opened on 29 March 1971 as a stop on what was then the Nagoya Municipal Subway Line 2 (Meijō Line). The station was made step-free with elevators in September 1999, coinciding with the opening of the Minato Library above it. With the network reshuffle of 6 October 2004, the line through this station was renamed the Meikō Line as Line 2, and the station became part of that new line. Platform-edge doors entered service on 8 June 2020. The two underground side platforms serve trains travelling between Kanayama and Nagoyakō.

Notes
Long the least-used station on the Meikō Line, Minato Kuyakusho saw its ridership climb after the September 2018 opening of the Lalaport Nagoya Minato Aculs shopping centre nearby — a rare case of a transit-driven retail anchor reviving its own host station.
